Aka the hardest footrace on earth!
Well if you don't know already we are both embarking on a bit of a stroll through the Sahara Desert!!........well maybe a little more than a stroll and I'm sure you will all think we are a little mad after I let you know exactly what we are doing. After a few drinks we both thought it a good idea to book the Marathon Des Sables touted 'the hardest footrace on earth' If you don't know or have never heard of it, it is an ultra race of 156 miles through the 50 degree heat of the Sahara Desert broken up into 6 stages, and if that doesn't sound bad enough just to top it off we have to be self sufficient for 7 days which means we carry all of our food and equipment for the whole race. It's something we had been talking about for a while and was playing on our minds 'can we, can't we' so took the plunge.
We decided we couldn't do such a big thing without trying to help others in need and so have chosen to support The Snowdrop Trust a local children's charity to both of us that helps look after children with life threatening or terminal illnesses. It would be great if you could support us and the Trust all the way up until and throughout the race
