Acknowledging the construction industry's significant contribution of 39% to global CO2 emissions, we recognise the imperative role we play in mitigating our company's carbon footprint. The tangible manifestations of climate change, such as rising sea levels, escalating temperatures and heightened global rainfall, underscore the urgency to curtail global warming to a maximum of 1.5ºC to avert profound disruptions to our daily lives.
As an organisation, we have established 2023 as our baseline year and our Head of Health and Safety has collaborated with Grosvenor and Action Sustainability to meticulously assess our scopes 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions. Subsequent to this evaluation, our strategy involves compensating for our carbon emissions through reputable offsetting programs and formulating a comprehensive action plan for 2024 to substantially diminish our carbon footprint.
