Work is progressing well on the commercial unit refurbishment project on Pimlico Road, London, as part of a major works framework. The Heritage team began on site in early July, with an initial 12-week programme targeting completion at the end of October. The project involves the modernisation of a dated retail unit, incorporating regulated upgrades and sustainable materials to reduce its environmental footprint. External works include a new shopfront with solar glass, repairs to asphalt and concrete, rendering, and restoration of heritage features. Internally, the unit is being fully stripped and refitted with new M&E systems, ventilation, redecorated windows, and locally repaired flooring to create a high-quality “white box” space. The basement required extensive structural repairs following the discovery of widespread rot, with new sleeper walls, joists, insulation, and certified tanking installed. The team has faced challenges including restricted working hours, limited site access, and unexpected remedial works, but progress remains steady thanks to a coordinated effort from internal staff and specialist subcontractors.
