The Medieval Palace at the Tower of London has been carefully and expertly restored, bringing to life the regal splendour of centuries past.
Visitors are invited to explore five newly refurbished rooms and immerse themselves in the world of monarchs like Henry III and Edward 1, and witness firsthand how they lived, ruled, and entertained within these storied walls. From royal chambers to grand throne rooms, history feels more alive than ever.
MCD was honoured to be commissioned for the de-installation of existing elements and the complete re-fit of the space. This included the delivery of bespoke setworks, graphic treatments, and integrated audio-visual elements. The project also required detailed coordination and management across base build works, MEP services, showcases, conservation practices, and specialist upholstery finishes.
The on-site works took place over a challenging 8-week programme, with strict limitations on interventions to the historic building fabric, alongside high-security conditions and dedicated operational constraints. Despite these complexities, the project was completed successfully and to the satisfaction of all involved.
MCD Heritage is proud to have collaborated with the exceptional team at the Tower of London and the talented designers at Northover & Brown. We are delighted to add this project to our heritage portfolio and look forward to continuing our valued partnership with Historic Royal Palaces.
